We pride ourselves in our standard of care, livery package and facilities. We are completely unique to any other facility currently available and believe we are setting the standard in equine retirement, with no hidden extras or additional charges.

Retired horses have often worked hard for us throughout their lives meaning not only do they deserve high standards of care but they are also more likely to have conditions, aches and pains that make this essential. Our purpose built facilities mean that every single retirement has been considered and planned for accordingly, making sure that common conditions such as; arthritis, cushings, EMS, laminitis, COPD and more are being properly managed.

As experienced and qualified owners of retired horses ourselves, we understand the pressure and responsibilities this can entail. We fully appreciate that your usual livery centres are generally bustling with activity, and with most residents still in active work, it can often be unsettling and sometimes confusing for the retired among them. Some owners may also be considering grass retirement, again, these are wonderful facilities yet may not appeal to those who prefer a good nights rest within a stable. Each horse is an individual and the livery package Shadowmere provides will not only care for your horse, but ensure happiness, peace and tranquility, allowing the ability to relax and enjoy retirement.

As we are only offering this facility to a maximum of 8 guests we are able to dedicate our time efficiently to this small group, ensuring that not only are the necessary tasks complete, but also allowing for pampering, grooming and general time spent with each individual.
